Dog Days of Dallas Metric Century: Sunday, July 13, 2008. 62 miles, with 48 mile option. Courtsquare, Dallas, NC. Presented by the Gaston County Cyclists & Troop 21 of Myers Memorial Methodist, Gastonia, NC. Please see link above for complete details.
Ride of Silence: Thanks to Doc Bradshaw for organizing Gaston's third participation in this event, held on May 21 at hundreds of places around the world. See Ride of Silence Report for more details.
Jersey / Clothing Update: We anticipate receiving the club clothing order soon!. In addition to jerseys, other items were offered. We were required to get requests for at least 10 of each item, and based on the orders received, we will be getting men's jerseys both short-sleeve and sleeveless, women's jerseys both short-sleeve and sleeveless, men's shorts, men's bib shorts, gloves, arm warmers, men's long-sleeve jerseys. The items that didn't meet the required minimum are skinsuits and vests.

Club Meetings: Dinner meetings will not be held in June, July, or August. They will resume on Monday, September 1, 2008.

GCC Weeknight Ride Series - 2008 Series will continue throughout Daylight Savings Time Rides Start at 6:00 p.m. Mondays (20 miles): Forestview High School, 5545 Union Rd, Gastonia NC Tuesdays (32 miles): Restoration Church of God, 1800 Spencer Mtn Rd, Ranlo, NC Wednesdays (35 miles): Forestview High School, 5545 Union Rd, Gastonia NC Thursdays (32 miles): Restoration Church of God, 1800 Spencer Mtn Rd, Ranlo, NC Coasters Ride Series – 2008 Tuesday and Thursdays: 6:30 p.m. Forestview High School, 5545 Union Rd, Gastonia NC 20-25 miles Sundays: 7:00 a.m., 25 miles, New Hope Baptist Church, New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC. Pedal Pushers Ride Series – 2008 Tuesdays and Thursdays (15-20 miles) 6:00 p.m., North Gaston High, 1133 Ratchford Dr., Dallas, NC. Regroups at intersections, as appropriate.
Team Coasters E-list: Want more information about Gaston area, show & go type rides? Consider joining the Coasters E-list. This list has members of varying levels of abilities, male and female. This list is a good way to find riding companions on a short notice. This list allows all its members to post as they wish, and any cycling related posting is acceptable, as long as it's in good taste and not inflammatory in nature. This list has a relatively large number of postings by its members. To join, send an e-mail to Doc Bradshaw to doc@teamcoaster.com , put "Join Me To The List" in the Subject Line, and include your name in the body of the e-mail.
