Ride Schedule

Monday – start 6:00 – Forestview HS, S. Union Rd, pace: 1^st loop: pace of slowest rider; 2^nd loop: approx. 16 mph

Tuesday – start 6:00 - Warlick School, Spencer Mountain Road, pace: 17-20 mph, 34 miles

Wednesday – start 6:00 – Forestview HS, S. Union Rd, pace: 17-19 mph, 34 miles

Thursday – start 6:00 - Warlick School, Spencer Mountain Road, pace: 17-20 mph, 28 miles

Sunday – start 9:00 am – Winn Dixie, S. New Hope Road; pace and route determined at ride start

3^rd Sundays – start 9:00 am – Bethel Elementary, ride with the Rockhill Cyclists, approx. 50 miles

Note: New riders are encouraged to join us on the Monday rides, which include two loops, 11 and 15 miles, respectively. All riders must wear helmets and an adult must accompany minors.

Dog Days of Dallas Metric Century – Sunday, July 9^th

Date: Sunday, July 9^th Time: Registration 8:00 am – 8:45 am; Ride starts at 9:00 am

Location: Courthouse Square, Dallas Cost: $7 for GCC/GRR Members; $8 for Guests

Course: 25-, 45- & 62-mile routes

Sunday, July 9^th, Gaston County Cyclists will host the Dog Days of Dallas ride. There will be three courses to choose from: 25-, 45- and 62-mile routes. The ride will have two water stops (one on the 25-mile route), stocked with water, cookies and fruit. The ride will start and finish in downtown Dallas at the courthouse square, with free Papa’s pizza and drinks at the finish. All turns will be marked and a SAG vehicle will provide any necessary assistance. For more information, see the flier enclosed or call Mike Harrison at 704-825-1718.

Available Until JUNE 30^th: Cooper River 2001 – Reservations at Microtel

Jim Weant has blocked (10) rooms at the Microtel in Mount Pleasant for our club for the 2001 Bridge Run, which will be held on April 7^th. If all (10) rooms are reserved, our rate will be $89/night. If all (10) rooms are not reserved, the rate will be either $99 or $109, depending on when the room was reserved. The rooms will be held until June 30, 2000 and will all be located at one end of the first floor. To reserve, call Microtel at 843-971-7070, ask for the “Jim Weant” rooms and reserve for the nights of April 6^th and 7^th.

Annual Biker / Hiker Weekend in Bryson City – August 4^th – 6^th

This year’s annual Biker / Hiker weekend in Bryson City will be held August 4^th – 6^th. Rooms had been reserved at the Lu Croy Inn in downtown Bryson City at a rate is $50/night under the name “Weant / Gaston Co. Cyclists”, with reservations required by June 15^th. If you didn’t meet the deadline, the Inn can be reached at 828-488-6363 to make your own arrangements.
